The anxiety of having her around,
The scarry thoughts that keep me sleepless,
Insomnia calling at me,
The nightmares of her haunting my nights,
It’s been years and am still stuck,
Stuck on what we shared,
Stuck on the thoughts of her,
It’s been painful, she gets to smile,
The heart is scarred, my mind is hurt,
Hopeful but broken
Atrocity
Why can’t we all have some peace,
Why can’t we have it all,
It’s all a facade parade,
They can’t even see the poverty levels rising,
They all see the petty issues,
The who replaces who,
The who is charge of what,
The who what has to offer
A leadership gone rogue,
Paying for the atrocities of our forefathers.
Avaricious
They said it’s all in the law,
To protect our girls, our Women,
Our wives, our daughters,
It’s not yet visible, too much talk,
They don’t have an ounce of pity,
Gender based violence, sexual violence,
They can’t see the teenage pregnancies,
The early marriages, sadly they even part of the perpetrators,
I see the wolves in sheep’s clothing,
The avaricious wolf.
Hefty Payment
The tables are turning,
The seats being vacated unintentionally,
It’s already a hefty payment,
The power they once sought,
For the hand that gave never received,
It is such a pity that avarice got them moving,
I see the essence of not voting,
We suffering when they having diplomatic Visa’s,
Why can’t we all have a share of the resources?
Is it all about power?
Where is the opposition?
Fickle
The floods swept the houses,
The government demolished the remaining ones,
Hunger, anger, death,
The political warfare, the pressure,
We were standing on unending queues all day,
We voted for them into seats to stand for us,
They did sit on us, pushed us down,
They took the little we had,
The lands, the houses, now in a pandemic,
The kids are crying, the women fall prey,
Rising cases of gender based violence,
They are watching from a far,
Smiling at each other, gambling with resources,
We have been annihilated from our usual selves,
Poverty on a rise,
Dejection, the fickle rule of law,
The buckling leaders, a government without opposition,
A country on a verge of collapsing,
Yet we cast the votes,
Is this our fate?
Cozened
The sun was setting,
So did his feelings,
It hadn’t been easy,
It was all too hard to decipher,
The pain he felt,
Seeing her turned to a stranger,
Hearing her call another person the pet names,
How could he take that all in, it was too much, how would he face the world,
He had been broken,
Stabbed in the back,
Yet all he could do was smile
Cozened.
Bulwark
It wasn’t just a show,
They were made for each other,
To him she was the Queen,
To her he was the King,
They were interwoven like chicken brained fluke,
They were inseparable, through the thin and the thick,
As they both complimented each other,
They had the same bottom line,
They strived to keep the adoration intact,
It wasn’t a game of love,
It was just fate,
A destiny bulwark.
Avarice
It’s just that patience is a virtue,
He had not lost the eye for a future,
He was under pressure,
He definitely needed to prove himself,
He needed to be strong enough,
He had to be able to provide,
His urgency to provide proved his avarice,
He wasn’t just gonna sit around,
He was going to take it no matter what,
It wasn’t a matter of dignity all just but,
Indignant need to survive.
Plaintive
The day was dull, so was the moon,
Her spirit had dampened,
Why did it hurt too much,
May be she was much of a pushover,
May be, just may be,
She couldn’t be less plaintive,
She has suffered enough anguish,
The pain and the anger,
The hatred that she had built over,
Was she too too easy to push around?
For some reason,
She couldn’t figure it out,
As the embers of the moon faded,
Her last ounce of patience had left with it.
Desperation
He was unsure whether he could survive,
He had grown fond of her, gotten accustomed to her,
Her sent filled all the rooms,
He was left yearning, in desperation for her,
He swore that his heart would be caged in cryptic, cryptonian steel,
He’d align it with almond diamonds,
He wouldn’t let the love Pierce the little peace he had found,
His mind would his all and his soul would suffer for her mistakes,
It was weird but he learnt that broken crayons still color
Coagulated
It was not a long time ago, when the glowing moon, welcomed the howling wolves, her beauty without end, Her eyebrows were like cresent moons, her eyes sparkly just like the stars, with a beautiful straight nose, her lips were like reddish gothic points and her skin like coagulated fat, with silky black hair that fell down her shoulders, with her pair of bewitching Phoenix eyes, with a gentle, subtle and graceful smile on her lips, the kiss would be too light, too gentle, a little may be overbearing like rays of the sun in the east, like the torrential rain, sinking into disparity, the night was splendid, his thoughts overwhelmed him, she is all he wanted but she never noticed him.
Insensitive Vengeful
An eye for an eye,
A tooth for a tooth,
Be nice to the nice,
And mean to the mean,
She never initiated attacks,
She was insensitively vengeful,
She always was going to strike back
The world had ridiculed her,
She wouldn’t stand and watch no more,
A wise man plays safe,
When a fool boasts of the endeavors,
A heap of praises,
Before a fall into the bottom of the abyss
Ruthless
A life that’s been loved is a life that has been lived,
Holding 999 petals of roses,
Waiting at the edge of the cliff,
Watching the sunset in patience,
He knew he was one step closer,
He thought that this bright star finally showed him some luck,
He however never thought she’d be ruthless,
She was gone without even a wave of goodbye,
She wasn’t gonna explain nor apologise,
He was left in the dark waiting for the moon to rise,
In it, he just became one with the howling wolves
Shameless
If all was gone, he hoped he had her,
He thought she’d stick around,
Through the thick and the thin,
For he knew him and her were forever,
Little did he know,
Life had a way of turning stuff around,
May be the spin wheel lost it’s charm,
She didn’t even look back,
It was all shameless,
It was just but a fool’s idea,
It’s never been fair in love and in war,
It’s just an illusion,
A diplomatic ideology of senselessness.
Abominable
In all aspects, it was not shameful,
She had given up half her life,
All she got was pain and hatred,
Stolen, scathed and nattered was her love,
He had promised her the moon and the sky,
In her pursuit he had made it abominable,
Now she’s stuck in a wake,
Struck by a wave of guilt, abominable.
She thought of how to face the world,
Of how to get back on track,
She was like a tornado warning,
Waiting to erupt aftet years of dormancy.
Poinsettia
There’s a very thin line between ignorance and faithfulness, it’s quite a shock that people fail to adhere to the set standards and regulations to keep them safe from the COVID 19 distress. It’s an ignoramus act where people lack the sagacious knowledge on how to handle issues, we’ve seen people pray in masses in Malaysia and their COVID 19 cases have sky rocketed, it’s a shame that people have lost it in the name of religion, hypocrisy won’t be the line of defense, it’s time people chose to be faithfuls or faith fools, the line is too thin, for the measures put in place are not frivolous, they are for our own good.
Flabbergasted
Her smile was crooked, so were her thoughts,
Love wasn’t good enough without passion,
The way she wanted it, romantic as the novelas,
The tele fairy tales, with Jade Maidens,
The Cupid’s arrow never misses she said,
It was just but her first kiss, she put responsibility on it,
Stunned and astounded left in a flabbergasted mood,
The thoughts of an unsculptured love,
A love so raw that it couldn’t be processed,
Her love factory was running out of moves,
His warehouse was out of romance,
A stalemate of love, blissful and entire wishful,
Thoughts flashed, memories entangled,
If only it was easy as it seemed,
May be she could love him right,
She hadn’t been hurt, she was a clean slate,
His ink was withering, the feather pen was inherited,
It was borrowed ink,
With a clean naive slate of a ruckus princess.
Bottom line Treason
I thought i never fall out of love,
The pain, the anger, the betrayal,
You turned our moments to your thing,
You stole my heart, my vibe,
You sold it for a penny,
Left me in a dark place,
I am lost, a little found,
I wonder how you can explain this treason,
You made me an income,
You wanna tell me that what you did was okay,
I might be the strongest,
I also got bottom lines.
Gelifraction
It was a gelifraction of thoughts,
His mind was in pieces,
His heart was oveethinking,
How heartless was she,
To her he was just a piece of pawn,
The ultimate chess piece,
He was no more than a game,
He had fallen slowly but deep,
The seventeenth abyss,
There wasn’t no resurgence,
He was broken hurt but still standing,
Just reminiscing of the times,
When her enchanting smile was all he had to look at.
Gelivable
Love is yo life as life is to love,
She was gelivable, she fought for it,
She wasn’t gonna let him go,
She had given it her all,
How could she just let go,
Send her heart into ruins,
Break the little flicker of love,
She wasn’t gonna lose him to no one,
A sacrifice worth the wait,
Just to let it be?
She sustained the wounds and fought back the tears.
