All she had were doubts,
Thinking she was joking,
She was irrational and rash,
Hurting his ego,
He had enough,
Yet he had no place to hide,
He’d grown weary of the jokes,
That taunted him, tainted him,
The embers of his last memories with her,
The plane was gonna come down hard,
He was gonna parachute,
Aborting his plans,
His mission,
His ideas,
Giving up on love,
He had enough pain in his eyes,
Too much humiliation behind his back,
